This is a form that I keep returning to over the years. It is based on the early Chinese plum vase or "Meiping" form. I love the elegance of the shape in contrast to the intensity and rawness of the natural ash glaze surfaces that develop in the wood kiln. This piece was fired on its side on seashells near the fire box, and has clear shell scars to show for it.
