Small wood fired jug. Tenmoku and natural ash glazing. One of the things I love most about using Tenmoku in the wood kiln is how sensitive it to small accumulations of wood ash. Tenmoku is a high iron glaze, and Iron has a wide range of color potential at various concentrations in glazes. As wood ash melts into the glaze, it dilutes the iron resulting in a interesting range of color.
