Wood fired pitcher with Shino and natural ash glaze. The usually carmel colored shino glaze on this full bellied pitcher has been almost completly trasformed by the addition of great amounts of natural wood ash deposited during the firing. looking into the interior where the glaze was protected from the fly ash, the contrast is apparent.
