These stout round forms are given a gentle squeeze before being taken off the wheel resulting in a slight oval appearance when viewed from above. This piece was fire in a hot part of the wood kiln a ways back from the firebox. As a result it has only a moderate accumilation of natural wood ash glaze, but very intense flashing from the heat and heavily reduced atmosphere.
