Straight sided 14 oz. mug with stout handle. The mug is made from a white stoneware clay and glazed with a shino and natural ash glazes. The top of the piece was more exposed to the flow of flame and ash through the kiln, and incorporated more wood ash into the glaze. The small patches of bare clay on the bottom of the piece indicate where the small fireclay/sawdust wads were positoned to prevent the pot from sticking to the shelf during firing.
