Stout 14oz. woodfired mug with natural ash glazing. The mug was altered on the wheel with a roulette texturing tool and some finger indentions while the clay was still soft. This is a stoneware with a good deal of iron in the mix. The toasty brown claybody glosses up and goes yellow to grey where wood ash has fused to the body. The interior is glazed with a shino glaze.
